Wednesday is our 31st wedding anniversary. We've had a few downers, but mostly it's been good. At times I wasn't sure I still wanted to be married, but I'm glad I found my head and pulled it out of my, well nevermind. Better half is a hard worker, provided for our rug rats until they were old enough to fly the coop and he loves me no matter how many infractions I may have.
Anyway, he (better half) is taking me to California. Woo Hoo! Oh but I suppose I should mention that he's taking me In an 18-wheeler. LOL He has a delivery there on Friday the 3rd and probably will be there over the holiday weekend before he gets a load out and back this direction. I imagine the majority of the warehouses will be locked up tighter than a maximum prison, until Monday. Thank goodness his company pays some dang good layover pay. See this smile? :-)
So we're leaving out tomorrow to get tangled up in all that, I imagine, road construction. I don't know about Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, but Missouri & Illinois sure have had a beaucoup bunch of that stuff going on. Good grief Gerty and Holy cow, but yesterday we came out of Chicago and it was literally bumper to bumper traffic all the way and it wasn't even rush hour traffic, just road construction. One lane shuts down and the whole damn city goes crazy. The traffic backs up for miles and miles and miles and no one knows what turn signals are, or how to be courteous and let someone in or not be a PIG about things and EXPECT an 18-wheeler to stop on a dime. Seriously...it's a dog eat dog situation in Chicago all the time! Oy Vey!
Keep hoping I'll get lucky and win the lottery, the big one you know? Gee, what I couldn't do with a few million dollars. Well, really... I could do a lot with a few thousand or even a few hundred, but I can always wish in one hand and well you know...
Youngest one purchased him a 2006 Suzuki Reno 4-door hatchback. It's the next thing to new inside and out and only 25,000 miles. It's a 5 speed, full power everything, cute as a bugs ear and such a pretty blue, well wait... here's a picture.
Suppose I'd best get laundry finished, better half has been mowing the yard (an every weekend thing), weed eating, spraying the cows and now he's fertilizing the trees and shrubs. We have some magnoila trees that are just gorgeous, have had them for about 3 years now and darn the luck, every time they are almost ready to bloom, we're on the road and don't get to see them in all their beauty. :-(
It's been quite a week with all the celebrity deaths. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and then today Billy Mays (Oxi Clean infomercials)
Supose we all have to go sometime, but so many in such a short time is just downright profound.
Here's wishing y'all a great week... especially skyrat and that daughter of hers in Missouri. :-)
“Marriage is a wonderful invention: then again, so is a bicycle repair kit. ” ROFLMAO!
Happy anniversary - belated of course! You've done good gf.
Have fun seeing California! Talk about traffic! Depending on where you're going in CA, may find that Chi town is tame. hehehe
